How is a product licensed? What does 'licensed' mean?

Wisdom-soft products are sold in a "try-before-you-buy" fashion. They are fully functional for a certain trial period.

An unlicensed copy of our software may be used only for the purposes of evaluation. You can make as many copies of the unlicensed copy; give exact copies of the original unlicensed copy to anyone; and distribute the unlicensed copy in its unmodified form via electronic means. There is no charge for any of the above.

Using unlicensed copy of a product after the evaluation period is in violation of federal and international copyright laws.

When a product is licensed, as a registered user, you will receive:

  • A license key that will remove all "Unlicensed", "Unregistered" stamps in the software, and unlock the features locked in the unlicensed copy. This license key will be emailed to you, or printed on the CD-ROM cover.
  • There is a one-time only charge, no annual fees required.
  • Free upgrades for all minor releases downloaded from our website. E.g, if you purchase AutoScreenRecorder 3.0 Pro, you can get a free upgrade for 3.1 Pro, etc.
  • Free high priority technical support for a month.

 

How to order?

You can order your license in any one of the following ways,

  • Order online with your credit card to get your license key.
    License key delivery time:
    • PayPal - Immediate license key emailing, 24x7 automated service. Why PayPal?
    • RegSoft or RegNow - License key issued and emailed after RegSoft or RegNow completes processing. It's usually done within 12 hours.
  • Order by phone or fax with your credit card. License key issued and emailed in 30 minutes.
  • Mail order with your check, money order. Order processed in the same day when it's received.
  • Bank wire transfer. Order processed in the same day when it's received.
  • Corporate purchase orders for multiple licenses. Order processed in the same day when it's received.
  • If none of the above is available to you, you may send us a registered mail with your cash payment in US or Canadian dollars.

Step-by-step guide:

(1) Choose "Buy Now" link or click the "BUY NOW" button to get to the order page,

(2) Select payment type on the order page. You can pay with your PayPal account or credit card, or other online order services.

(3-1) On the PayPal/Credit Card order page, select your products and quantity, enter your email, then click "Next".




On the payment page, choose to pay with your PayPal account, or pay with your credit card directly.


(3-2) If you choose RegSoft or RegNow, on their order page, choose the products you want and click "BUY NOW".

When you use PayPal, your financial information is not shared with the merchant, and we do not see your credit card number.

I don't have a PayPal account, can I just pay with my credit card?

Yes you can. You can order your product by selecting your products and license type and click "Next". On the PayPal information page, click "Continue". Also see "How to order? Step 3-1".


I don't have a credit card, can I pay with my bank account?

Yes you can. Create a PayPal account with your bank account, then you can pay with your PayPal account.


I need to install on more than one PC. How does the multi-license work?

A single license allows you to install on one PC only. It does not allow you to install the software on a network or used by more than one PC. The multi-license is an economical way of buying program licenses for a number of users for your organization, network, or family PC's. Upon purchasing a multi-license, your multi-license key will be sent to you. It also entitles you to future upgrades of all licensed copies.

The number of multi-license is determined by the total number of installation PC, regardless how many users are using one PC. Eg. if your company has 50 PC's (including workstation, terminals), it will need a 50 user multi-license.

If it's installed on a network server, the total number of client PC, plus one for the server is required.

 

I ordered an hour ago. Where is my license key?

If you order through the PayPal with your PayPal account, the license key is emailed to you automatically the minute the credit card payment is approved. 
If you order through RegSoft.com or RegNow.com, the license key is emailed to you after we receive an email notice. That is within 12 hours. 

If the email address is not correct or, for any reason you don't find the license key in your email for a day, please email Sales with your name and software you bought, so we can check your order manually.

 

I lost my license key, how can I get it again?

We use a registered user database to manage registered users. You can email to Support  with your name, email address, the date and products you ordered.  We will email you your license key again. 

 

How to enter a license key?

Our software is licensed in a "try-before-you-buy" fashion. Download is always free. Here are the steps on how to run enter your license key (e.g. ScreenHunter).

(1) Download the setup package, saving to your hard drive. (EXE , ZIP, or MSI).
(2) Run the saved setup package to set up.
(3) After the setup, run ScreenHunter 5 Pro from the Windows Start (program group), or the icon on your desktop.
(4) Enter your license key.
If a program is not licensed, it will ask for your license when the program starts. We suggest to enter you license key by copy&pasting into each block to avoid possible typo, such as 1 or I, 0 or O.
Please check the program title to make sure the program you're running is what you're licensed for. You may need to restart the program after entering the license key.

E.g. ScreenHunter 5 Pro

After a program is licensed, the "Register" button is disabled and it will not ask again.

If it doesn't ask you to enter the license key and "Register" button is grayed out, it means the software is licensed and you don't need to enter the license key again.  The licensing information on your PC is kept when you uninstall/reinstall the software.


 

 

What is your refund policy?

All Wisdom-soft software products are sold in a "try-before-you-buy" fashion. They have a fully functional trial period. You have plenty of time to evaluate and you shouldn't buy unless you are happy with it.

After a license key is issued and your order is processed, it is our company policy that no refund will be available.

 

What is a group license?

A group license is a written permission issued by Wisdom-soft to allow the total number of installations in an organization, including public and private companies, corporations and institutions.
 
A group license is required to use the Free Programs in an organization that has more than one person, regardless of internal or external use.

The group license fees are listed on the Price List.

To order, please make sure the total number of PC's in your organization and enter the quantity on the order page. The total number allowed to install will be shown on your group license document. 

 
 Installation Answers

Is the software compatible with Vista and Windows 7? What is a 64-bit Windows?

Yes. All our software products are compatible with Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7, for both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems. However, they do not work on a Mac.

Windows XP, Vista and 7 all have 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Most XP and Vista are 32-bit. Only the new ones are coming with 64-bit Windows. All Wisdom-soft products support 64-bit Windows.


What if my computer crashed and I need a new copy of the software?

Download the software again and use the license key you already have to unlock it on the new computer.  If you lost your license key, email us your order information with your name, email address and purchase date. We will send the license key after verifying your registration.  More...

When installing a newer version, should I remove the old copy? 

Yes. We recommend that you uninstall the old version before installing the new version. 
 
Please make sure to "Exit" the current version if it's running before uninstall (E.g. for ScreenHunter, make sure to "Exit" the program and there is NO hand icon in the Windows system tray).  

Uninstall is built-in with all our applications. You can click Start | Programs, point to the program's group, find and click Uninstall to remove the application.

Note for MotionStudio and MotionGIF: Since uninstalling will remove all library and sample files that came with the installation package, please make a backup copy of the library and sample files if you have changed and want to keep them.

 

I tried "Add or Remove" from Control Panel, it gave me a "Could not open install.log file". Why?

It could be that the program files are deleted manually or by other means.
What you can do is to install ScreenHunter 5 Pro again to the same folder and run uninstall right after.
 
Before uninstalling, make sure ScreenHunter 5 Pro is not running (No icon in the system tray.)

(1) Make sure that 'Hide extensions for known file types' is unchecked of your Windows Explorer (press Windows key + E).
(2) Change 'Install Log' to Install Log.txt', then when you go to uninstall ScreenHunter it asks to find 'Install Log.txt' with an 'open/save' dialog box, choose open and then straight after uninstall continues.

 

I saw a newer version is released, how do I upgrade?

Any minor upgrades, such as from 2.0 to 2.1 or from 5.0.721 to 5.0.723, are free.
When there is a newer version released, you can just download the new version, uninstall the old version and install the new one.

Please make sure to "Exit" the current version if it's running before uninstall (E.g. for ScreenHunter, make sure to "Exit" the program and there is NO hand icon in the Windows system tray).  

If you're a licensed user, your license key will be taken automatically (no need to type again).

How to uninstall Wisdom-soft Toolbar?

What is the difference between AutoScreenRecorder and ScreenHunter?

AutoScreenRecorder
is for recording screen activities, such as screen changes, mouse clicks, menu operations or streaming online movies. It saves them into a video file, either in Flash movie or standard AVI format. The saved video file can be played back by any media player, or browser (for Flash movies).

ScreenHunter is for taking still image screenshots. It takes a part or the full screen and saves it to an image file, such as BMP, JPEG or GIF.


What is the difference between MotionStudio and MotionGIF?

MotionStudio
is for creating a stand-alone EXE file with interactive actions and animation. No viewer or additional file required to run the stand-alone EXE.

MotionGIF is for making animated GIF files. An animated GIF file is a picture with animation that you can put anywhere on your website. It only needs a browser and doesn't require any viewer to view the animation.

Some previous versions are available for download from our Support Center.


How to show image file extensions?

By default, file extensions for known file types are hidden in Windows XP and Vista. You can change this setting so that file extensions are shown for files in a certain folder or for all files.

To show file extensions,

(1) Open Windows Explore (pressing Windows Key + E)
(2)
Select "Folder Options..." from the Tools menu and click the View tab.
(3) Find the option "Hide extensions for known file types." and uncheck that.
(4) Click the "Apply to All Folders" button and click OK.

Note: This setting is system wide, so unchecking this box will make file extensions appear in all folders.
